Very spicy - lemon, lime, minerality, clove, smoke, white pepper and freshly cut wood. Mouthwatering acidity.
Just across the river Loire from the village of Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé makes a rival sauvignon blanc that can taste every bit as good. As you would expect considering the price, this is a superior example and it carries itself with majesty and great presence, like a broad river with eddies and undercurrents.
