Tasting note:

Bursting with black cherries and dark spices, this lovely, velvety red gives a lot of pleasure. Medium-bodied with layers of dark berry flavour, it goes on and on, both on the palate and in memory. Food matches: roasted turkey, chicken, duck; baked ham; barbecued swordfish and salmon; and firm cheeses..

Grapes were harvested end of September and beginning of October from: Heron Pond (Benchland Vineyards, Beamsville Bench), Brae Burn Vineyar & Delaine Vineyard (Niagara River, NOTL).
Fermented for 14 days with skin contact; full malolactic fermentation and then aged for 14 months in new and used French and American oak.
Aromatics of black cherry, chocolate, leather and spice move into the cherry and bittersweet chocolate flavours that are balanced by firm tannins creating a lingering finish.
