Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: This small family winery is located in the heart of central Victoria and specializes in crafting a small portfolio of red wines. The founders, Sue (aka Susan) and Rod Hourigan, left their careers at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in the 1970s to pursue their passion for fine wine. Rod is the winemaker but clearly Susan calls the shots on this blend. My note: A medium- to full-bodied wonder with knock-your-socks-off aromas of ripe blackberries, red currant, mocha, anise, and a hint of mint. Expressive with a good thread of acidity and a nice balance and length. Food matches: steamed mussels, barbecued ribs, chili, hard cheeses, cheesy dips.
