Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: McLaren Vale may be known for its Shiraz, but, as this example from Dowie Doole demonstrates, the region’s Cabernet Sauvignons deserve similar praise. Loaded with blackberry, floral, black licorice and wood smoke aromas and flavors, this supple wine has an elegant mid-palate and fine finish. Age it 2-4 years, or enjoy it tonight. My note: Juicy, full-bodied richness with cassis, blackberry ad hickory smoke. Terrific wine for 5 pm, that necessary transition from daytime flurry to nighttime blurry. Food matches: grilled pepper steak.
