Don Sebastiani & Sons Smoking Loon Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.
Tasting note:
Mocha-lovely goodness with dark plums and dark berries. An espresso-infused finish. Full-bodied and smooth.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
 | Dark plum colour with a nose reminiscent of black cherries with a touch of cinnamon and cloves. Brimming with ripe raspberry and blackberry fruit with a touch of white pepper and dill; this Cab finishes with notes of currants and strawberry rhubarb pie filling.
Food pairing: Lamb chops with mint jelly, beef and porcini mushrooms in an oyster sauce, or even big veal meatballs in a rich tomato sauce over your favourite pasta would pair well with this Cabernet. With enough structure to stand up to hearty dishes, its fruit is enough to enjoy as the appetizer itself. |
