Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Tasting note:

A full-bodied, supple red with lovely aromas of dark berries and plums. Perfect with meat lovers' pizza on movie night or for early spring barbecues. Great price! Food matches: steak, pasta and ribs.

Dan Trcka rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: The 2011 (yes, from this spring) Domaine Jean Bousquet Malbec is medium bodied wine with nice aromas of fruity strawberry, prune and caramel. Tannins are refined (decant for 30 min) and the finish is medium and bit sweet. Not to be cellared for too long due to the plastic enclosure (fake cork) (though I would not cellar it, I would actually be interested to see how it evolves, as it has a potential to improve in the next five years). My impression: NOTHING SPECIAL to NICE, 87 pts. Tasted Nov/11.
