Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Tasting note:

Lovely! Very spicy and full-bodied with black pepper and dark plum notes. I love this wine. Juicy and smooth in texture. Food matches: braised lamb shank, hearty tomato and meat pasta dished, duck confit.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
Matt Loney rated this wine as 92/100
Peter Wilkins rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Picked as Top Red Wine by Ont Sommeliers SOSA 11/12
The fruit, and resulting wine, showed excellent focus, expressing the savoury spice and black pepper profile framed by rich red fruit and firm tannin that form the core of many Creekside Shiraz bottlings. An intriguing mix of elegant and robust, the 2008 is drinking very well now in its youth but displays the vintage’s bright acidity and intense structure, making it a prime candidate for spending 3-4 years in the cellar to evolve further depth and complexity.
