Tasting note:

Compelling aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, dried herbs, violets, led pencil and cedar. Wonderful core of fruit concentration held together with a towering structure, depth and length. Definitely a bowtie wine for special occasions, but why not make it a special occasion tonight by opening it?

This review is for the 2000 Vintage. When first opened, nose was heavy cassis and pencil shavings, deep red berries, black cherry, plum, vegital and a bit of ocean bon-fire. The nose followed through similar onto the palate, with good acidity and still strong tannins all in good balance. Caramel flavours developed after being open for a while and pencil shavings gave way to something more "oaky". A very MUSCULAR wine. Finish is a bit jammy but still clean.
