Although the vine has been cultivated here for centuries, if not millennia, the Saumur- Champigny we know today is very much a modern creation ... a vibrant, fresh, mineral-stony-perfumed red. - Source: Chris Kissack, thewinedoctor.com Bursting with red cherry, pomegranate, floral notes and a touch of beetroot, this wine, built around the Cabernet Franc grape.
