Tasting note:

Rustic and oaky with black fruit and smoke. Full-bodied; and in need of 2 hours+ decanting. Winner of a Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2009. Decanted, it will pair well with a rare roast beef and root vegetables. Food matches: rare roast beef and root vegetables.

A Renaissance-inspired chateau equipped with fine vaulted cellars, acquired by the British Racey family at the dawn of the 21st century. The 2006 is a youthful wine, as evidenced by its clear red colour. Wood (mocha) flavours on the attack lead to a bouquet trending toward ripe fruits, spices and menthol. This soft, full-bodied wine, featuring beautifully rich tannins, should be cellared for three or four years to fully develop its range of flavours. A wine with character.
