Tasting note:

An elegant and subtle red, though it was full-bodied weight and depth. Aromas of dark fruit and woodsmoke. This wine has 70% Merlot in the blend, the balance being Cabernet and it was matured for 18 months in oak. Perfect for dinner parties.

From a nice parcel of land that belongs to Alain Thiénot, a negociant in Champagne, this wine, The fine make-up of this 2005 is evident in its dark crimson colour and a flavour spectrum that moves from smoky wood notes to accents of red and black fruit. Given the muscular tannins and empyreumatic notes that overshadow the fruit at the moment, it would be best to cellar this bottle for two to five years. Score: 1 (out of 3) Source: Guide Hachette
