This wine shows that even in the broader appellations, such as Bordeaux Supérieur, the 2009 Bordeaux vintage is truly impressive. A blend of 60% Merlot and 20% each of Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc, it features aromas of pomegranate, sour cherry, mocha, smoked meat and cigar box. Dry with nice concentration of flavours on an elegant frame. The fresh acids and moderately firm tannins add much interest. Cellar it 3-5 years as a bargain-priced cellar starter, or enjoy it tonight, decanted. Source: Vintages Wine Catalogue.
