Château des Charmes Old Vines, Estate Bottled Riesling 2008
Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
 | Jason Solanki rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:
2010 vintage. Lime, citrus aromas and hints of lemon with replays on the smooth, full-bodied palate. Finishes clean and off-dry. Quite nice. Tasted June 2012. |
 | Riesling was one of the first varieties we planted in 1978 and that original block is still producing very good fruit but Riesling vines can be quite generous so we have to manage the yield of each vine quite carefully. We believe that Riesling grown in cool climate wine regions, like Niagara, produce food-friendly and age-worthy wines. Our ‘Old Vines’ Riesling is an excellent example of this. It has classic old world aromas of flint with nuances of lemon and lime adding freshness. We made this wine in an unoaked, dry style with a thread of tangy acidity. |
