Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: Surrounding the ancient city of Nîmes, the Costières de Nîmes is the most southerly appellation of the Rhône and borders upon the Languedoc region. This Mediterranean-influenced blend of Syrah and Grenache has good depth of black and red fruit flavors as well as peppery spice, earth and garrigue notes. My note: Big black, brooding aromas of black plums, blackcurrants, dark spices and a touch of pepper. Full-bodied with a good grip. Decant for 1-2 hours. Excellent value. Food matches: lamb tagine with fennel.
