Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: May 22, March 7, January 4 and December 16.

Tasting note:

The name Cellier des Dauphins is derived from its vineyards which once belonged to the son of the King of France, or the Dauphin. The vineyards are north of the Vaucluse, south of the Drome area where the soil is chalky-clay. A blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah. A pleasant blackberry-ripe sipper with notes of cedar, garrigue and smoke. Peppery top notes keep it lively and provide a nice contrast to the plush fruit. Food matches: game, gourmet bison burgers, ribs, steak, mature cheeses.
