This wine with pasta was excellent. The clear dark color in the glass has a sense of promise to it. On the nose it is clean with aged bouquets of earth and spice. Lots of tannins with a nice finish, teamed with a cream pasta, and you have a match made in heaven.
Carpineto’s Vino Nobile Riserva is almost too much of a good thing with its rich density, bold intensity and big aromas of ripe blackberry, leather, exotic spice and tobacco. It has smooth texture and polished tannins as well. Age 10 years or more. Special Designation: Cellar Selection. Score: 92. Source: Monica Larner, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 2012
