Note: I publish batches of reviews that I call Good Values Wine Picks. These are from the regular section of the liquor store rather than the Vintages section, and tend to be lower priced and the most widely available of all wines. The last four reviews I did were: March 7, January 4, December 16 and November 20.

Tasting note:

Round and full-bodied with lovely aromas of green apples, pineapple, lemon zest, peach and hazelnut. A vanilla spice-infused finish.

Opinions about wine differ greatly as the experience is subjective. You may find it helpful to compare this critical evaluation of the wine with mine as well as your own:
When making the 2007 Napa Valley Chardonnay, Laurie Hook kept each lot separate and used several different techniques to retain the fruit’s brightness while developing its
innate complexities. After the grapes were sent directly to press where the juice was
gently extracted, half the wine was aged for 9 months in French oak barrels (31% new) to enhance its natural richness and roundness. The remaining juice was stainless steel fermented to highlight the crisp, bright citrus and fruit flavors that Chardonnay grapes offer in abundance. Laurie chose to put 35% of the wine through malolactic fermentation, balancing the wine’s lush mouthfeel with its bright fruit characteristics.
WINEMAKER’S COMMENTS:
“Almost half the fruit from the 2007 Napa Valley Chardonnay is from Bertha’s Vineyard, which consistently delivers rich citrus and apple flavors. Lemon meringue, pear, vanilla bean and toasty oak notes make this a richly layered wine from the start. The bright citrus notes keep this wine refreshing and undeniably pleasing to drink, with a silky finish.” – Winemaker, Laurie Hook

Serve this wine between 55-60 degrees Farenheit or 12-16 degrees Celsius. Tip: If your bottle is at room temperature, put it in ice water for about 30 minutes or in the fridge for about three hours to chill it.
