Dark red. Currant, blackberry, licorice, leather and tobacco leaf on the nose. A dry, juicy yet supple midweight, with blackberry and cassis flavors complicated by a hint of leather. Harmonious acidity and dusty tannins give shape to this traditionally styled cabernet, which seemed to gain in texture and sweetness as it opened in the glass. It’s hard to find this level of quality in Napa Valley cabernet at this price. Score: 90 Source: Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar
