Tasting note:

Vintages Wine Panel: These days, Carmenère is getting well-deserved recognition in Chile. Not only does the grape’s identity crisis seem to be over – for a time it was confused with Merlot – but it’s becoming known as a signature variety, embraced by the Chileans and adored by wine lovers everywhere. This 2007 example shows rich, ripe plum and blackberry fruit, with hints of wild bramble and mocha. My note: A fabulous wine! Rich, dark, brooding and concentrated. The nose offers blueberry, purple plum, cassis and cedar. Food matches: wine-braised beef, game, rustic bread, turkey with heavy sauces, wild boar.
