Vintages Wine Panel: In January 2008, the La Confrérie Saint-Etienne d’Alsace conferred their prestigious special seal for excellence on this wine. At an altitude of 200-300 meters above sea level and sitting atop mineral-laden soil, the terraced vineyards of Schlossberg are known for their magnificent Rieslings. 2007 was a tremendous vintage for Alsace, and it shows in this fragrant wine with its bright citrus fruit and flinty mineral aromas. Dry with concentrated fruit flavors and a long finish, it can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to a decade. My note: Bone-dry with zesty notes of limes and green apples. Pure and unoaked. Great refreshment and versatility with many dishes. Terrific back deck sipper. Food matches: seared scallops, asparagus, vegetarian dishes, quiche.

Serve this wine between 55-60 degrees Farenheit or 12-16 degrees Celsius. Tip: If your bottle is at room temperature, put it in ice water for about 30 minutes or in the fridge for about three hours to chill it.
