Reviews and Ratings

Roger Bryanton rated this wine as 90/100
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Like ripe black fruit? Look no further! This wine is a remarkable expression of Argentinean Malbec. Rich ripe black cherry, black plum, cassis, and mocha notes dominate the aromas and flavours. Nuances of graphite and wet stone minerality, pepper and smoke linger on as well. It's full bodied with smooth tannins, lusciously balanced acidity and a long earthy-pepper black plum-cherry finish. Enjoy with beef kebobs. Tasted Mar 2017.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Yummy. Dense purple. Concentrated supple black plum, savoury herb with a hint of graphite minerality. Vinified with Mendoza fruit from 1000 m ASL this high elevation cool climate Malbec is shining bright with flavours and has an enticing and deep full body. Pair with herb and citrus marinated beef kebabs or easily sippable on its own. Tasted 2013 vintage in March 2017. 90 points
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted the wine on March 5th 2017. Purple colour. On the nose plum jam very pleasing. On the palate more plum dark cherry, soft tannins. Very easy to drink. I think the wine may have reached its peak drink now and enjoy with a beef stew, cheddar cheese, or a piece of chocolate. Limited number of bottles. Looking forward to future vintages. Good value at $20.
Produced by the Ontario husband and wife team Peter Gamble & Ann Sperling (also think Southbrook, Benjamin Bridge, Sperling Vineyards), the grapes are sourced from old vines planted high in the foothills of the Andes Mountains of Mendoza at 1,000 metres above sea level. The vines are irrigated naturally by glacial melt. - Community Wine Reviews
