Reviews and Ratings

Michael Lloyd rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Tortoise Creek, developed by Janie and Mel Master, has quite a following with Opimians. Sauvignon Blanc planted on selected parcels in Gascogny with chalky clay soils were used to produce the Tortoise Creek 2011. The grapes were night-harvested and left for 24 hours skin contact prior to pressing. The juice was then held for 30 days at zero degrees in order to extract full fruit flavours prior to fermenting. Gooseberry, smoky aromas combine with herbal leafy notes and a good mid-palate which leads to a fresh
finish.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
