Natalie's Score: 90/100

A big, robust, brooding red wine with full-bodied weight and layering on the palate. Made from the iconic Australian grape Shiraz, this wine offers attractive aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, cassis and cedar. Smooth and ready when you are. Try it with meat lovers' pizza. A slow, cool fermentation adds elegance and polish to this wine that was aged 14-16 months in both American and French hogshead barrels. Pair with meat lovers pizza tonight.

Shiraz food pairings: beef rosciutto, black bean soup.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Opaque dark ruby colour, with ripe cassis aromas. Rich palate gives blackcurrant jelly&slight pepper, milk chocolate and vanilla. -A well-balanced, harmonious mouthfeel with a yummy cassis finish.
This Australian red wine hails from a family making wine for six generations. Their ancestor James Goddard discovered gold in 1870 in the Barossa and so began the family's fascination with geology in all its aspects. The shotfire honours the dangerous job in the mines of having to light the dynamite and yell "fire's on" then run for cover. - Community Wine Reviews
