Love the full-on campfire, toasty oak and smoke on the nose of this robust red. Gorgeous layering on this Chilean red wine made from Carmenere grapes, with voluptuously fleshy black plum and berry aromas and flavours. This wine goes on and on and on. Nice price. Pair with grilled pork chops.

Carmenère food pairings: wine-braised beef, game, rustic bread, turkey with heavy sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This full-bodied red wine is deep ruby in colour with a concentration of dark fruit, fresh cut green pepper, chocolate, smoke, warm spices and a lift of coffee. The length is long on a chocolate covered cherry finish. Good acid to fruit balance. Tannins are evident but not distracting. A very good wine and even better price. Pair with Argentinian BBQ salted grilled steak.
Tasted: May 2015
This Chilean Carmenere offers terrific value and taste for the money. Concentrated and layered with a smoky, pencil led finish. - Community Wine Reviews
