This Chilean Cabernet offers incredible value and depth of flavour! Lovely dark berries and plums, with espresso and smoke on the nose. Full-bodied and smooth. Luscious layers of velvet smooth dark berry fruit on the palate and great replays of flavour. Finishes with mocha, cedar smoke and dark spice. Pair with grilled chicken or pork chops.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: back ribs, gourmet pizza topped with steak strips.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 80/100 with the following review:

Great cork! Aged 12 months in French oak. This Chilean Cabernet earned 92 points from Wine Spectator. Always makes me re-look at my tasting notes then wish I had some in front of me to taste again. My nose and palate got a whole lot of green pepper, eucalyptus and menthol. Sometimes a hint of fresh cut juicy green pepper can be very nice. This was not the case for me today. For the price I will buy a bottle when it comes into the LCBO a try again.
Tasted: March 2015
The Ammonite pictured on the front label of this Chilean Cabernet first appeared 400 million years and has been extinct for 65 million years. These fossils abound in the higher Andres Mountains where the irrigation water for this winery's vineyard originates. The grapes are grown in the Pirque region of the Maipo Valley. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. It finishes with black cherry and dark spice. - Community Wine Reviews
