Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Aubert rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Nice and crisp, despite being fermented in oak, which gives it an almost imperceptible hint of butterscotch. This food-friendly wine has notes of peach, pineapple and citrus and is an ideal summer sipper for a hot day.

Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Crisp, dry and refreshing warmer climate Sauvignon Blanc. Vinified with fruit from Alexander and Russian River Valleys in Northern California. Bursting with aromas and flavours of lemon drops and grapefruit with ripe peaches and pineapple. Beautifully balanced fruit and acidity makes for a perfect companion to summer salads, creamy cheeses and grilled seafood. Tasted May 2016/90 points. Tania Thomas – www.runawaygrape.com
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas include lots of sweet lemon, stone fruit (peach) and pineapple. Light and zesty on the palate, tropical and citrus flavours mingle with bright acidity. Nice and crisp, this wine would be a great summer sipper, or to serve with seafood dishes.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

People recognize Rodney Strong as a benchmark producer mostly centered on Sonoma and the Russian River area.  Mostly centered around growing Cabs and Chardonnays, this wine is a slight departure for that area.
Pale yellow, with green hints.
Aromas of white fleshed peach, lemon and lime.  Cut grass chlorophyll note. Very fresh, indeed.
The flavours are somewhat more tropical. Key lime, grapefruit, guava, green tea, and melon.
Sauvignon Blanc requires a reductive treatment to preserve it's vitality and freshness.  This wine demonstrates that concept very well.  The production methods would be very similar to that of New Zealand or other warm, new world climates.  Obviously, the taste is a bit different because of climate.  This Sauv is in the same family of styles as Kiwi Sauv, but with more body and less piercing acidity.  If you like New Zealand, give this a try. If you like Cali, give this a try. If you like a nice wine to pair with light fare... Give this a try.
