A gorgeous Amarone with the most seductive nose I've smelled in a long time: black fleshy fruit that tease the senses and caress the tongue ... over and over and over again. Again please. Insatiable. Yes.

Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico food pairings: polenta dishes, venison, beef daube, leg of lamb, pasta with tomato sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby red, the nose displays textbook dried fruit characteristics that the world has grown to love from the high quality Amarone wines produced in Valpolicella. Dried fruit, dark berries, tar, cola, and dark cherry. The palate displays luscious sweet dark fruit, liquorice, spice, and cola, all in a velvty smooth and dry style. Beautiful now and will continue to show well for many years. Drink 2015-2022. Tasted April 2015. 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This is a text book Amarone with classic dried fruit, fresh cherry, sweet baking spices, leather, cola. This is a deep and supple full-bodied red wine that goes down ever so smooth.Acidity is medium+ and the finish is long with sweet spices and raisin. Cellar potential over the next 10 years. Please let me be there when you open it!
Enjoy with finer cuts of red meat.
Tasted: May 2015
This terrific Amarone doesn't taste as though it has 16% alcohol, rather balanced and lots of flair. Great structure. The grapes are harvested at the highest slopes on the Valpolicella Valleys. They are slowly fried and softly pressed and left on their lees to extract maximum colour and flavour. The wine is aged in oak barrels and then again in the bottle. - Community Wine Reviews
