Zinfandel food pairings: gourmet hamburger, lamb burger stuffed with feta cheese, bobotje.

Reviews and Ratings

Nicole Lewis rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Opaque, dark garnet, this full-bodied California Zinfandel offers up a complex array of aromas including ripe black cherry, cassis, cedar, cigar box and nutmeg. The ripe fruit greets your palate and is tempered by medium acidity and soft but insistent tannins.
I would pair this wine with a venison steak, served with potatoes and spinach sautéed with garlic, onions and cremini mushrooms. Zin lovers take note - excellent price to quality ratio here.

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fruity red and black berry on the palate. Declared at 15% ABV. Rich fruit and spiciness make this Dry Creek Valley Cali Zin great for sipping or to pair with BBQ rack of ribs or BBQ Gourmet burgers. Tasted Nov 2016 - rated 89/100. Drinking well now.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A crowd-pleasing Zin with mild floral aromas but dominant juicy fruit flavours. Top notes include cherry, black plum, licorice and favoured (sweet) tobacco leaf. Enjoy with spicy pulled beef tacos. Tasted Nov 2016 - @sommsoa | bespoketastings.ca
Classic Zinfandel from California with wine grapes from Rancho Zabacho Winery's Heritage Vines (old vines). At 14.8% alcohol, you would think the wine would be 'hot' on the throat or palate, but this full-bodied, rich and savoury Zin with juicy red fruit, red plum and white pepper is balanced with a zesty acidity and the fruit lingers on. Great price as well. Drink now and through to 2020. - Community Wine Reviews
