A terrific, full-bodied red wine for the price! This dark-fruited Argentine wine is made from the country's classic Malbec grape, which produces luscious, round wines like this one. Aromas of blackberry jam, toasty oak, smoke and mocha. Perfect for gourmet hamburgers with all the fixins.

Malbec food pairings: full-flavored meaty casseroles, liver, rib roast with a coffee and pepper rub, sausages, tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Alice Kubicek rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby, cooked fruits and smokey overtones, with flavours of jamminess. figs, raisins and prunes. Medium acids and tannins, very well balanced and ready to drink on its own, with cheese or with steaks and frites. Excellent value for price.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Bright red berry and cherry aromas, with hints of leather, spice and pepper. Tart red cherry and spice on the palate with grippy young tannins.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Loads of black pepper in the aroma, as well as leather, and young black cherry. A nice, full bllack cherry taste, with the sames black pepper and spice from the nose, as well as some tannins tending towards the grippy side.
Terry Jeans - Certified S rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Medium intensity with purplish hues. Still a young wine at this point, but has some nice floral, raspberry and blackberry aromas, mingling with leather and vegetal notes. The flavours are also berry fruit and leather. A relatively complex wine for the price.
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Priya: A nice dry Malbec with soft tannins and beautiful smoky, yet flowery chocolate aromas. Lasts long, and packs a punch at 14% alcohol. A bit bitter on the finish. 88pts

Alex: Excellent value Malbec here, very flavourful and deftly made at $14. I'll add some sweet blackberry fruit and dashes of soy sauce to the nose as well. Clean and plush palate with enough balancing acidity, would be perfect to bring to a party. 85pts
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby with a purple hue. Stewed fruit, prunes, wood smoke on the nose. Youthful, with fresh dark berries, cola, and vanilla on the palate. Medium bodied, with medium acid and tannins make this value priced Malbec a great crowd pleasing option for any gathering. Would complement BBQ fare or enjoy on its own. Tasted November 2014. Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Nov 22, 2014: Deep purple, high toned nose, plum, grapey, berry with floral/vilolet a bit of bread and spice.
Medium full bodied, a little raisined, plummy, soft and cushy with medium acidity and gentle tannins with a hotish finish. Fire up the grill for BBQ burgers and steaks.
