Lots of mocha and chocolate and smoke on the nose from generous oak aging. Savoury with mouth-watering acidity on the palate. Aromas of black plum and spice. Pair with grilled meats.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A tannic and full bodied Merlot from Stellenbosch South Africa , this 2012 vintage offers great value for those seeking a well balanced red to pair with grilled red meats. Tasted Sept 2016.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Black and red fruit on the nose and palate with a hint of mocha appearing on finish. Tannins are grippy and linger past the finish. Pair with grilled meats.
Intense ruby-coloured wine with pronounced aromas of dark chocolate, black cherries, toasted hazelnuts and an unusual herbal edge. The aromas give way to elegant flavours of black fruits (cherries, blackberries and ripe plums) matched with rich and savoury notes of black olives, liquorice and spicy tannins (cloves and cinnamon sticks).
