Perfect petrol (stay with me), lime, apricot: balance, finish, juicy flavours, sweetness in tandem with focus. Pear and apple pie on the finish. Great with glazed ham, sweet potatoes and happy discussions.

Riesling food pairings: pad Thai, pacers, aloof tick.

Reviews and Ratings

Nicole Lewis rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Caveat emptor: I have a fondness for Mosel Rieslings. This one meets my expectations. Aromas of ripe apple, lemon, and a subtle waft of acacia blossoms presage a rich experience of green apple, ripe peach and a beautiful balance of sweetness and acidity.
I would pair this with West Indian pigeon peas and rice with browned stewed chicken.

Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted April 4th 2017. Colour white gold, and clear. Aromas of apple, pear and notes of dry hay. On the palate apple, lemon lime with a slight spice note. Good balanced acid. Finishes nice with soft tartness. This easy drinking Riesling from Urzig in the Mosel region makes for a nice appartif before dinner or pair it with a lemon shrimp appetizer.
This Germen white wine made from classic Riesling grapes is produced by Mönchhof, one of the oldest wineries in the Mosel region. Many of vines still thrive on their original rootstock, more than 100 years old. The 2014 vintage of their Riesling has lots of minerality and acidity. - Community Wine Review.
