Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A purple-hued Chilean Red that is meaty and has aromas of cassis jam, blueberry pie, violet, sweet tobacco, cedar, vanilla, and sweet spice.

It is full-bodied on the palate with smooth tannins and an acidity that is perfectly balanced with the flavours and structure of the wine. It has tart blackberry, dark berry, and black pepper flavours with a long finish that is both oaky and smoky. Overall, this wine is very well made with its beautiful harmony and has aged wonderfully.

Tasted January 2019.

WINE-FOOD PAIRING: Enjoy with a savoury pork roast drizzled in a dark fruit and black pepper reduction. The wine does not overpower the meat in anyway and the abundance of jammy dark fruit found in the wine complements this meal perfectly.
Jason Solanki rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Plum and cherry cola nose from the cork. Alluring spice box and cherry aromas from the glass. Medium-bodied with savoury black cherry and dark red fruits on the palate. Very light tannins are backed by mouth-watering good acidity. Short finish is a touch hot. Could cellar for 2 years, but definitely enjoyable now. Tip: Serve this straight out of the cellar or even chill for 5-10 minutes prior to serving. Will pair well with the homemade pizza we're having tonight. Tasted Sept/2012.
Concha y Toro set the benchmark for Carmenère with this wine, and the newly released 2010 continues that tradition. Dry, medium bodied and packed with dark raspberry and black cherry flavours, with just the right touch of toasty oak character. Elegant and suave with a backbone of bright acidity and light tannins balancing the ripe fruit flavours on the finish. A Carmenère with finesse worthy of your dinner table.
