A smooth, silky, medium-bodied Pinot Noir from the Var region of Provence in southern France. Ripe fleshy cherries. Perfect for roast chicken. Great value.

Pinot Noir food pairings: stuffed roasted turkey, steak topped pizza, breaded veal cutlets.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lip smacking acidity and tart red berries, dark cherry, follow with medium tannins. A pleasure to taste. The acidity is astounding which balances with the ripe tannins and a declared 13% ABV. Tasty and accessibly priced option for Pinot Noir lovers. Pair with typical Burgundian Pinot Noir pairings. Tasted March 2017. 90 points BespokeTastings
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Last bottle from the last bottle basket at my LCBO store. I purchased this bottle because the price was good for a Pinot noir. And I recognize the Madison Louis Latour.
This was a very pleasant suprise. Nice red colour and very clear. The aroma of strawberry was the first thing I noticed. The palate showed lots of strawberry and rose flavours. My mouth continued to water well after the wine had been consumed. Tasted March 11th, 2017
Louis Latour's, Domaine De Valmoissine (2013) wine grapes were grown in the Var, Provence I.G.P wine region. The area includes the Bandol and Côtes de Provence regions with winemaking requirements that their finished wine include Mourvèdre, Grenache and other grapes inherent to that wine grape growing region. Since this is a Pinot Noir wine (which does not fall into that category), the wine is designated IGP Var. That said, this earthy PN is a great price! - Community Wine Reviews
