A full-bodied red wine with attractive aromas of blackcurrant and cassis. Great value and taste for this price point. Try it with grilled meats and herb-crusted chicken.

Les Jamelles Merlot 2012, Pays d’Oc, France
A delightful Merlot from southern France, with irresistible aromas of ripe cherries and strawberry jam. The fruity, red berry palate also shows touches of cinnamon, vanilla, sun-dried tomatoes and cocoa. Velvety with good length. Serve with ratatouille, steak or roast pork.
Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

Dark appearance. This wine displays aromas of ripe red cherry, raspberry blackberry, currants - slightly jammy. Mild spicy and smoky notes. Not overly complicated but is a lovely expression of a juicy and fruity Merlot. This wine is well-balanced with ripe acidity and soft tannins. Very easy-drinking wine with a good, dry fruity finish. It is a perfect match for traditional tomato based meat dishes or spicy vegetarian foods. Serve chilled (serving notes recommend 17 - 18°C).
Carla rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

The colour is a deep ruby-purple and this Merlot is on the dry side. Hints of the darker fruits like black berries and currants. Medium body with a bit of tart, earthiness to it. Great with aged cheeses and salty, dried meats.
Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Our Merlot Les Jamelles is a very complex, rich, long and fat wine. With its dark colour, it displays aromas of crushed black fruits (blackberries, blackcurrants, cherries), jam and cooked fruits, as well as smoky scents (peat) and spicy perfumes (cinnamon, thyme). This wine is round, rich and long-lasting on the palate with mature tannins on the finish. It is a well-balanced easy-drinking wine.
