A rich, supple New Zealand red wine blend of merlot and cabernet sauvignon grapes grown on vines planted in warm region in the Hawkes Bay thus the more full-bodied and flavourful style. Perfect for grilled pork chops.

Merlot Cabernet food pairings: Morgan veal stew with mushroom and pearl onions, pork schnitzel, vegetable kebabs.

Very fragrant ripe blackberry, cassis aromas lead into a richly-flavoured fruity palate with blackberries, blueberries, juicy red plums, vanilla, cloves and subtle oak. Silky tannins and a lingering fragrant finish-outstanding! My Desert Island red.

Dense and heady. High alcohol and lots of barrel maturation in new and used french oak.
Very deep garnet colouration. Lipstaining.
The aromas have a lot of concentrated plum, blackberry, cassis, and charcoal.
The flavours are soft and supremely ripe. Fresh, but evolving. Brown spices - cinnamon and nutmeg. Lots of plum and berry. The oak is tasteful, even if it received a lot of it. The fruit still have a lot of centre stage.
Keep it maybe a few years down the road, but it would go great with a tender pepper steak and kale salad.

Kim Crawford, you've done it again. New Zealand is not well known for merlot and cab, but this wine certainly does nice things. Black cherry and dark berries on the nose and more of the same on the palate. Not a lot of tannin, but definitely good acidity, so you keep coming back for more. Easy drinking on its own or with beef stew.

Airy blackberry, vanilla, eucalyptus, and graphite aromas. The taste is blackberry, black cherry, and a bit of the eucalyptus from the aromas. Quite nice. Medium+ acidity, medium tannins that are fairly rounded, and a juicy blackberry finish. Great for roast beef, hard cheeses and nuts, etc.

The grapes for this lovely New Zealand red wine are grown in the estate's Corner 50 Vineyard. They are hand-selected in small parcels for maximum complexity and depth of flavour. This is a blend of 72% merlot and 28% cabernet sauvignon grapes sourced from the Hawkes Bay region. - Community Wine Reviews
