Natalie's Score: 90/100

A medium-bodied red wine with aromas and flavours of tart cherries and cranberries. Mouth-watering and juicy. This red wine is a blend of three of the winery's estate vineyards, including Closson, Benway and Foxtail. Each parcel of grapes was matured separately in French oak barrels for 1 year. This wine needs food: feed it roast chicken for starters.

Pinot Noir food pairings: roast chicken, roast veal, meat lover's pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Some delicate care went into making this little beauty. A blend of four Estate vineyards and aged for 10 mos in French oak barrels, the efforts are apparent! The bouquet leads the way with and abundance of red fruits: cherries, raspberries, cinnamon, sweet smoke and dried leaves. Flavours show strawberry compote, pomegranate, fresh tobacco, pepper and earthy salty minerals. Pronounced acidity makes it way through the lean finish and gentle tannins revealing a mouthwatering, silky texture. Enjoyable and refreshing. Perfect to pair with balsamic pork or maple glazed trout. 90 points
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Tart cherry and mocha nose with a delicious palate giving more tart cherry, vanilla, allspice, mocha and earth. Well-balanced with yummy mocha finish.
Tasted Oct. 2016
From Ontario, Portage 2014 is 100% Pinot Noir from Keint-He. The wine is elegant, balanced elegant, easy to drink at 12 % alcohol and a great option for roast beef or lightly smoked cheeses. This red wine is a blend from three of the winery's estate vineyards, including Closson, Benway and Foxtail. On the nose, this Pinot Noir is earthy with blue florals with ripe red cherry, cedar underbrush and cake spice flavours on the palate. Enjoy now. - Community Wine Reviews
