Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This wine is a showstopper. It showcases wonderfully balanced brambly fruit, there is great structure and a mouthfeel that goes hand in hand with the aromas of the fruit driven elegance. There is a hint of smoke, incense, earth and wild mushroom. From the oldest Estate vineyards in the Short hills Bench, this wine is very worthy of long cellar aging.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Made using hand-picked grapes from the oldest Speck Estate vineyards in the Short Hills bench, many of which are blessed with southern exposure in Niagara. Offers concentrated aromatics and flavours of raspberry, currant and blackberry, with subtly interwoven earth and baking spice. Rich, well-structured and velvety. Drink now or cellar up to 2013. Savour this with duck, other game birds, turkey or rich pâté.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Hand picked from the oldest Estate vineyards, this is a lovely Pinot Noir showing wonderful attention to detail. Open oak barrel fermentation along with small barrel aging contribute to oaky and smoky flavours that are refined and delicate, yet still add structure and body. Fruit flavours (currants and blackberries) are rich and prominent, but still give way to bright acidity. Overall, quite lovely and enjoyable to sip on its own, but would pair beautifully with duck, lamb, pork or even salmon. Very versatile. Enjoy!
Dianne Sheridan - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Made from Speck's Estate oldest vineyards in the Short Hills Bench. This wine demonstrates a deep concentration of raspberry, blackberry and currant. It has a long cherry finish with hints of cedar on the palate. Can cellar age for a year or two more. Pair with grilled salmon, mushrooms, roasted chicken.
Pamela Chiles rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Complex, layered and elegant. Grapes are hand-picked from the best Speck brothers vineyards. A great Pinot for fans of Ontario pinot. Pair with mushroom risotto, grilled acrtic char, smoky pancetta and lentil soup...
