Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A nice tropical guava and pineapple nose with butterscotch notes on this Chardonnay from South Africa. A rich, buttery palate with banana, pineapple, citrus lemon and buttered toast. Creamy mouthfeel and a long buttered citrus finish. Tastes like more!
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Full-bodied tropical Chardonnay from South Africa. Lots of tropical fruit, butter, lemon, passion fruit, butterscotch on the nose. The flavours on the palate are rich and coating. Lemon zest, toffee, vanilla, pineapple with a long buttered popcorn finish. Medium+ acidity and compliments the flavours nicely. Serve chilled. Pair with shrimp in lobster sauce, lobster bisque, roasted pork, pasta in cream sauce.
Tasted: April 2015
Enticing toasted almond and hazelnut on the nose of this South African Chardonnay from oak aging. Full-bodied and voluptuous. A portion of the proceeds for every bottle sold of this wine goes toward the winery's estate conservation area, home to some rare and endangered species of animals and plants. For example, the Cape Eagle Owl is the largest and most powerful owl in the country and plays a vital role as a top predator. The winery provides 120 perches for these regal birds of prey. The 2013 The Game Reserve Chardonnay has lots of mouth-watering acidity. - Community Wine Reviews
