This Chardonnay was completely fermented in oak barrels giving it a creamy, rich texture and taste. Heady aromas of baked bread, vanilla, ripe tropical fruit, peaches, pears, green apples. Round, deep, complex and satisfying with enough acidity to make it food friendly. This winery is also famous for it's expressive pinot noirs and sparkling wines. Try it tonight.

Chardonnay food pairings: baked ricotta on toast, stir-fried veggies, brie cheese, chicken tetrazzini, duck a l'orange.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Although well known for their sparkling wines Gloria Ferrer produces a wide variety of wines. The 2009 Carneros Chardonnary has scents of chamomile, straw and citrus and crisp flavors of lemon and spice.
An austere, complex, dry Chardonnay brimming with lime-lemon zest, apple, pineapple, baking spices, finishing smoky and long on a mineral note with good acidity for food. The sweet smokiness come from barrel aging the wine.
