Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Aged at least 24 mos in new oak and further 3 yrs in bottle, made from selected grapes from best Tempranillo vineyards. Dark garnet with ripe cherry, vanilla and leather aromas, leading to a rich palate showing ripe cherry, integrated spice, leather and tobacco. Smooth, elegant and satiny with a lingering rich finish. Enjoy with roast lamb for a beautiful experience.

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Toasted cherry, leather, smoke and vanilla on the nose and palate - so elegant and beautifully crafted. The mouthfeel is smooth and silky with a rich cherry finish. Perfect with with a rosemary crusted rack of lamb.
Produced by Bodegas Faustino Martinez, this full-bodied and mature Riojan red Gran Reserva has so much to offer with its well-integrated ripe cherry, integrated spice, leather and tobacco flavours. Faustino I Gran Reserva (2004) is a red wine blend of mostly Tempranillo with 9% Graciano 9% and 5% Mazuelo (CariƱena), aged for 26 months in oak barrels. Pair with a good book by a roaring fire. - Community Wine Reviews
