Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Firstly I must congratulate the vine yard on such an entertaining label. I love wines where I feel like this wine that they have created and released is like a member of their family. The label looks like a story waiting to be told.

Having said all of that, this is a wine that will not dissapoint, and is delicious alone, with cheeses or a full course meal.

The colour of this wine is deep and rich and holds the side of the glass with grace. On the nose chocolate is the most prominent followed by a release of fruits, blackberries, black currants, red currants then thyme and nutmeg. On the palate, chocolate and then licorice almost intertwining simultaneously. Blackberries and black currants again hold their presence but a tartish marmalade note like orange rind makes its introduction. The palate is held with a delicate spicey ness like nutmeg and then eases into a velvety seductive lengthy tannin finish.

Bottoms up!

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
