Lots of mocha, dark chocolate, coffee and espresso from very generous oak aging of this towering Washington red wine. Black plum and dark berry flavours emerge on the palate. Full-bodied and smooth. Polished tannins. Finishes with mocha and vanilla smoke. Pair with brisket.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: pork ribs smoked, juicy barbecued steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The nose offers blackberry and a wonderful scent of vanilla. The palate offers the same with some chocolate and bit of tobacco on the satin smooth finish.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Bold berry and plum notes on the nose. Lusciously smooth tannins. A nice berry, plum, sweet tobacco and licorice notes on the palate. Full bodied red with a med-long chewy tannin and licorice finish. This is a super yummy wine (hot-ish) so pair with something supper yummy - mesquite bbq ribs!
Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Black pepper, eucalyptus, blueberry aromas that carry through on flavours. Round tannins, balanced acidity, and a persistent and warm blueberry finish. Perfect with barbecued meals!
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby colour with slow moving legs. Medium intensity aromas of black cherry, strawberry, cassis, vanilla, sweet spices, toast and lift of mint. The palate is clean with additional characteristics of baking spices, cola, mocha and some smoothing tannins. Acidity is medium+. An excellent value medium-bodied Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon. Long length on a warm finish. Pair with you favourite grilled red meat. Could even pair with heavier white meats such as roasted pork, grilled pork chops.
Tasted: March 2015
Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby color with aromas of blackberry, bleuberry, oak and mint.

The wine is stuctured, creamy and medium.

Excellent to match with grilled red meat.

Serve it at 15-17 degrees.

Can be aged 6-7 years.
