Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

One of the few upsides to having strict AOCs in France is that you get wines like Madiran...made mostly from Tannat, a thick skinned varietal that is temperamental and can often be harsh and tannic. Otherwise, I fear that these vines would have been torn up in the region in favour of Cab and Merlot. While these wines will always have a strong tannin presence, they can be felled, or at least balanced by ripe fruit flavours. Peyros, along with Lionel Osmin, regularly produce such wines. The 2005 Greenwich 43N is a perfect example of what this grape can achieve under the right growing conditions. Aromas and flavours of black cherries, cherry pit, grape must huckleberry, old wood, cinnamon stick, and a hint of clove. Pair with duck and tender cuts of steak such as tenderloin and rib eye. Drink now through 2020. 90 Points. (ottawawinejournal.com)

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
