Reviews and Ratings

Courtney Flood rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Very striking wine! Cherry, black currant, vanilla, dried fig, cedar, and a touch of espresso. Great balance of acidity with a rush of fresh cherry on the first sip, and gradually moving to toffee, and finishing with a long smoky espresso finish. Love this wine! Would not like to mask this wine with food, but would pair with a ratatouille with chopped fresh basil if I had to pick.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Cherry, coffee and blackberry aromas and flavors. The palate offers a bit of vanilla like sweetness and there is a hint of smoky spice that accompanies the finish.
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The Cape Barren Native Goose 2012 vintage is a Grenache (57%) Syrah (37%) Mourvedre (6%) blend from McLaren Vale, Australia. Ruby red, 14.5% ABV. This wine is deep and dense, with concentrated notes of juicy dark raspberry, plump plum, blackberry, allspice. With minerality, juicy fruit, medium tannins, medium acidity this wine is well balanced and well integrated at its age. Recommend pairing with roasted turkey and blueberry cranberry port-infused sauce.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This red wine blend of Grenache and Shiraz is a deep ruby in colour with slow legs. Aromas and flavours of black cherry, cassis, toasted wood and some warming alcohol. Some drying tannins and medium+ acidity. Enjoy now but some cellar potential as well. HIts that magical <$20 price point.
Alexandre Craig DWS, FWS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of cassis, red cherry and blueberry pie, with a hint of vanilla. Well-balanced, with a long finish. A wonderful example of a New World Rhône blend.
Jane LeFresne rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This wine has interesting aromas that contrast. Sweet almost toffee/vanilla like followed by blackberries and currants with hints of white pepper.

Flavours of red cherry, raspberry blackberries finishing with black currant.

A great through the week or special occasion wine.
This full-bodied Australian red wine is a blend of 57% Grenache, 37% Shiraz, 6% Mourvèdre grapes. Lots of black fruit and oak. - Community Wine Reviews
