Sweet dark chocolate that's roasted over a campfire. A non-vintage Californian Zinfandel with mocha, coffee and loads of toasty oak on the nose and palate from lavish oak aging. Finishes with chocolate and espresso. Some black fruit. Pair with Mexican mole.

Zinfandel food pairings: cheese pizza, hearty meat meals, lasagna, Asiago.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lot 7 Zinfandel from Hope Family wines. Known for their stellar lineup of Liberty School and Treana wines, Candor Lot 7 beams a full bodied, ripe, juicy California Zinfandel with a hint of spice. Loaded with dark berries, cassis and caramelized vanilla bean at the back. Cooked fruit is pronounced adding a classic jammy Zinfandel feel. Dried fruit dates and figs present with a fruit compote ending in a lingering, lengthy clean finish. Big, fruity and fun. Try with hickory seasoned pork chops. 89 points - tasted January 2019
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Introducing a Zesty Lodi Zin, 14.5%, featuring ripe blackberry, tart raspberry, mocha and a hint of vanilla waffle cone. Medium bodied, fruit forward, medium tannins. Wonderful with Belizian spicy beef carne asada tacos or Thai beef with basil stir fry. Tasted September 2016. @jonsteeves rated 88/100.
A non-vintage Californian Zinfandel, produced by winemaker, Austin Hope of Hope Family Wines. Ripe berry and dark fruits with savoury spice and toasty oak on the nose and palate from lavish oak aging. Pair with a Mexican mole. - Community Wine Reviews
