Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

Upon my recent visit to the Brunello Di Montalcino wine tasting in Montreal, I remember standing in the tasting salon, and wondering where do I begin!!!!! My level of taste has changed with the maturing of the years and although my taste buds have travelled the globe, I was still rather ignorant in the world of Brunello!
You may possibly wonder how did I choose which table to go to first. Incredible wines with distinguished looking vintners wearing strong, romantic Italian accents. I was for all intensive purposes in Tuscany and ready to swoon at any given moment, however the snow storm taking hold outside brought me back to reality and a job had to be done...yes I know....tough job!
My choice was was to find the table where a window of opportunity would allow me to nestle my way in ...
AHHH Argiano!!!!!

On the nose the brick red wine shows notes of red berries and flowers. Raspberries, red currants and roses with an earthy base.

On the palate, now it delivers....to me this wine delivered the same lucious energy as a Cointreau. It was rich and opulent and opened up with dark cherries, blackberries and red currants. The notes became more earth based with hedgerow and mushrooms and then elegantly lead into a mocha and spice note. The tannins are of good length but for all it's big personality this is an elegant and well balanced wine! Bravo!
Bottoms up!

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
