|Darlene Myers - CAPS Student rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:|
Love this Ancient vines Zinfandel, and its a spectacular price for a food friendly and easy to drink wine. Dark ripe berries, chocolate, and toasty vanilla combine to make a great wine that is served well with many chicken dishes, especially those with a sauce. It would also pair well with pork, done in many different ways.
|This Zinfandel comes from dry-farmed vines planted over a century ago, and the concentration and complexity of the wine attests to its impressive heritage. Notions of tilled earth, dates, dark cherry, raspberry pie and mincemeat delight the senses. On the palate it’s juicy and voluptuous and wears its robust build gracefully. Well balanced throughout, with great, almost Port-like complexity on the finish. Drink over the next 5 years. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, June 2013|
