Lemon sunshine swirls out of the glass, followed by ripe peach and pear. Some smoke and vanilla spice is deftly woven through orchard fruit on the palate. Full-bodied and mouth-filling. Try it with pork tenderloin. Chardonnay food pairings: scallops, lobster, salmon, grilled chicken, spicy Asian fare. Scrumptious Seafood Wine

The 2010 Simi Chardonnay from Sonoma is a bright, fruit-packed powerhouse that’s like Chardonnay on steroids. It’s a cocktail of green apple, nectarine, lime and pear, and spice off the oak barrels. It’s so ripe you can taste the tannins on the skins. There’s a minerality in the background that teams up with that sensation of tannin. It’s so aromatic it’s like drinking perfume. It’s pretty and it’s powerful. Source: Sandra Silfven, The Detroit News, June 18, 2012
