2011. Favorite
Vera Czerny reviewed this wine as follows:

Beautiful light golden color is the first impression you got from 2010 Muga Blanco. Lovely aroma of citrus fruits and lavender are accompanied by a touch of vanilla (received from cask fermentation). Crispy, yet creamy in texture, this wine is very refreshing, offering flavors of ripe orchard fruits and melon. Intensive and persistent, remains fresh and lively all the way to the long finish.

This is one of not too many wines that I keep buying by case. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long... I usually replace it with Muga's unforgettable Rose for the summer (if I am lucky to catch it). We go through that even faster...

Bodegas Muga's production of red wines are my long time favorites and you have to taste some in order to see what traditional Rioja top wines are supposed to taste like! You can find some of their portfolio in my other reviews...
Dry,
Light-Medium Body,
Aged in oak (partially)

Muga Barrel Fermented White 2010, D.O.C.A., Rioja, Spain: Vintages Wine Panel: A blend of 90% Viura and 10% Malvasia, this wine is given a slow fermentation in new French oak barrels, plus a further three months resting on its lees. The resulting wine is rich, impeccably balanced and concentrated. Cellar it 2-3 years or enjoy it tonight. My note: A joyous, zippy blend of white grapes that result in mouth-watering juiciness and ultra-food-friendliness. White peach and lime lead with a terrific long finish.
