Cave De Hoen Vieilles Vignes Pinot Gris 2009, A.C., Alsace, France: Vintages Wine Panel: Pinot Gris is considered one of the noble Alsatian grapes, and there is a real aristocratic air to this gorgeous wine. The nose is rife with notes of melon, spice, pear, mineral and floral tones. Off-dry and medium bodied, the palate is rich, delicious and quite weighty with yellow apple, pear, mineral and spice. My note: Soft, not acidic with round peach and pear. Exotic with lychee and rose petal. Drink: 2011-2014. 224261 12.50% MD 750 mL $17.95 Score: 88/100. August 20, 2011 Full Review
